Prologue Main Titles for OFFF 2009
We’ve been announcing it for months and finally HERE THEY ARE: these are the main titles for OFFF 2009. Designed and directed by Ilya Abulhanov for Kyle Cooper‘s Prologue Films —you already know the guy: some call him “the new Saul Bass”; we call him “GOD”—, OFFF Oeiras’09’s credits go beyond anything seen before. Simply put, the fest has reached a new level with this absolute masterpiece. We have no words to express our gratitude to Ilya, Kyle, Hecq and everyone involved. This is a dream come true, and we want to share it with you. Enjoy.

Thank you!
After three days of inspiration, creativity and fun, OFFF 2009 is over. It’s been an incredible experience and the best OFFF ever. Everything worked perfectly: the venue, the line-up, the audience —YOU!… Many dreams have come true —Stefan Sagmeister, the Prologue Films’ main titles, Raster-Noton’s frame.sync— and many old friends have been there again helping us to spread our view on post-digital culture. We would like to thank everyone involved in the fest, specially the Government of Oeiras, the sponsors, the media, the artists and, obviously, all of you out there. You made OFFF 2009 possible, and we are already working on OFFF 2010 because of you. Rock on!
Stefan Sagmeister
Sure, Stefan Sagmeister has done a lot of conferences and has been at a lot of festivals and events before OFFF 2009. But how many times do you remember him onstage in drag? We discovered that Stefan’s sense of humor is almost as inmense as his talent and wisdom. No doubt he was one of the highlights at OFFF 2009: brilliant, inspiring… And he made us all laugh our asses of!
Nerdference
We knew we had something good, but not THAT good! The first edition of the Nerdference panel at OFFF was incredibly succesfull. Peter Kirn, Eric Wilheim and Gijs Gieskes made the crowd roar with their presentations focused on DIY technologies, open source and circuit bending. Not even our colleague Julià Carboneras —the main man behind the Nerdference— could expect the audience’s fantastic feedback. He’s already working on Nerdference.2!
THE DANGERS OF LECTURING AT OFFF

The Godfather of the festival did what he does best: rocking the shiiiiiiiiiiiiit to the max. This time with his speaking about “space”. Yesterday, as a young French attendee later told him almost in tears, he “brought us together”. Even the tried to avoid the camera by running on stage and hiding under the table… Didn’t you know that speaking at OFFF is kind of risky? Watch out kids, don’t try at home!
Animation SuPEStar!

Adam Pesapane knows exactly what a mingle with the crowd means! People started roaring even before he hit the stage. One of the most celebrated artists on this year’s edition, PES charmed the audience with his amazing stop-motion technique. His iconic animated short films were even brighter at Roots, with such sound and image conditions.
ONESIZE SPONSOR TITLES

Onesize premiered their astonishing titles for the festival sponsors. And they were huge! An extremely inspired eight minutes piece where art and branding converges in the most wise way possible. The work mixes video and 3D under a retro aesthetics where everything fits just perfectly. We love it! Thanks, Onesize: you made us happy!
CHAMPAGNE VALENTINE ROCKS THE BOAT

If you ever think that most designers and motion graphers are kind of nerdy, here you’ve got Champagne Valentine… Man, Anita Fontaine and Geoff Lillemon are classy! They have a passion for fashion and are deep into developing seductive interactive work for edgy brands. The crowd noticed it: their unique interactive and motion pieces left the audience breathless.

I’ve been helping the OFFF team since 2007. It’s been two years of hard work, stress and loads of laughing. There have been so many funny stories thatI do not really know where to start from… But I specially remember the day we graffited the Corte Inglés in Barcelona with laser tags. The cops went nuts and they wanted to take us all to jail. But there was no real graffiti because we were painting with light, and they didn’t know how to face it legally. It was hilarious.
